“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be
in health, just as your soul prospers.”
3 John 1:2
The most important thing in a
person’s life is their spiritual well-being. Our soul should be prospering. If
it isn’t it is stagnant, or worse off dead. This is not God’s will for us and
it should not be so. God is a well spring of life. His well spring of life is
within us. We learn three things from today’s verse. 1) We should pray for those
that are in our lives’ spiritual well-being. We should pray that their soul
prospers. If they do not know Christ we should pray that they come to know Him.
2) Another thing we should pray is that they prosper in all things. 3) Lastly,
we should pray that they be in health.
Father, we bring before You all we know and love. We want
all of them to know You as we do. You brought us to the foot of the cross. You
revealed Your Son and His love to us. We received this gift. We pray that You
bring them to You too. May they accept You as their Lord and Savior. Prosper
them in all things. May they be in good health. May their soul’s and body’s
prosper as You will. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
